Welcome!

There exists a not-yet-organized collection of individuals and small research groups who believe, or are at least open to, the following ideas• Cancer is a disease in which the evolutionary selective pressures upon cell populations is key • Evolution is one of, but not the only, complex dynamics involved in cancer • The vast majority of research and treatment today either does not acknowledge cancer complexity, ignores its importance, or fails to incorporate the logical consequences stemming from that complexity The mission of this wiki is to 1) Galvanize all those interested in exploring the above premises into a community where an open dialog occurs, new and old ideas are explored and vetted, and new connections are made. 2) Organize and announce related events 3) Become a living repository of knowledge about cancer complexity 4) Actively disseminate this knowledge to researchers, medical practitioners, media and the public at large This is an open community, please feel free to jump in and help it thrive. Do not be discouraged or shy if you are not an expert in oncology. Simply by interacting (reading, posting thoughts, asking questions, modifying the wiki pages) you will be encouraging others to do likewise and thus you will be furthering the mission. 3 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

Thank you Rafe for putting together this website and forum. I hope that it will foster critical analysis and debate over the assumptions, theories, and paradigms that form the foundations of cancer research and ultimately contribute to the development of improved therapies for the prevention, cure and control of cancer.
